Firm and regional insights

How each firm actually recruits here. Offices, process, what the case is really like, what the job pays, and where candidates lose the offer.

How the MBB firms differ

The single most useful thing to know before you prepare. Cases come from different places at each firm, and that changes how you should practise.

FirmWhere the case comes fromWhat it means in the room
McKinseyInterviewers design their own from real projects, with no central approvalA discussion with frequent interjections rather than a clean sequence of steps
BCGInterviewers bring their own, but each must be approved by the talent committeeIndividual but vetted, with intricate maths and little tolerance for approximation
BainA database of pre-approved cases, reviewed for consistent style and difficultyIndustry agnostic, five dimensions covered, one stretch area per case

Preparing for all three firms with a single approach is the most common preparation mistake we see.

Pay across the MBB firms

Total compensation in the UAE offices, tax-free. Riyadh pays around 7 to 15% more at the MBB firms, Oliver Wyman and Kearney; Strategy& pays no Riyadh premium, and its Beirut office pays 15 to 20% below the UAE.

Ranges reflect offers our candidates have received alongside market data. Level titles differ between firms, so stages are matched by role rather than by name. Treat these as indicative rather than a quote.
